Fairfax County Public Library

Additional online databases can be found at the Fairfax County Public Library. The number on your public library card is the password.

Search for books, and reserve or renew items through the Fairfax County Public Library catalog.

Internet Search Tools Evaluating Web Sites

See your Lee librarians for assistance in meeting your research needs.

Research Help

Don't forget--your Lee librarians are always available for assistance.

Biographic and Citation Formats

The best source for MLA format is the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers available at 808.02 Gib in the Lee Library. The Writing & Research Handbook available on Blackboard (Lee Library section) has a works cited guide and many frequently asked questions can be answered at the MLA web site. The MSU-Bozeman Libraries also have a sample format guide.

Research Quality Web Sites

Remember to search the subscription databases--they often have the most complete and current information available.

Web Sites For Research By Subject

The following web sites may be appropriate for research. Make sure to identify the author/organization responsible for the information to determine if it is valid. These links are outside the Lee High School web page and content may change. FCPS does not control the content or relevancy of these pages.

Try these sites below instead of a regular search engine when you first begin searching for web sites. They will probably yield better results!

Librarians' Index to the Internet
Internet Public Library
Open Directory Project (Search the "hidden" web!)
Vivisimo (Organize your search!)
Refdesk.com
