Lee High School Tip Line

Students and staff are encouraged to be vigilant and support our schools efforts to provide a safe and secure environment for all. The Lee High School Tip-LIne provides a means to anonymously communicate information to school and law enforcement officials that could prevent or assist in apprehending those involved in harmful activities to individuals or the school property. This would include information about drugs, violence, abuse, vandalism, alcohol, fights, bomb scares, etc.

All information will be kept confidential and can be left anonymously, but providers are encouraged to leave their name and contact information. If you would like to leave information, click on the button below or send a message to LeeHSTipline@fcps.edu.

Personal Property at School

Fairfax County Public Schools does not assume responsibility for the personal property of students and does not purchase insurance for their property. Students and their parents are urged, therefore, to carefully consider the types and value of property that students take to school. Items of significant monetary or sentimental value are strongly discouraged, including cell phones, CD players, IPOD’s etc. and certain types of apparel and jewelry. With regard to items that are relevant to the instructional program and that students take to school to share with a class, parents and students should give consideration to the value of the property relative to the limited storage and security that is available in schools. This is not intended to discourage the sharing of materials that enhance the instructional program but to urge appropriate consideration of what is taken to school. The same consideration should be given to personal property brought to extracurricular activities, including musical instruments. Student use of any storage area provided by the school division is on a voluntary basis; there is no requirement to use any storage areas. Students who choose to use locker storage, or any storage area that can be locked, shall be responsible for the security of any associated keys or combinations.

Please give careful consideration to the above suggestions. Together with your cooperation and our determination we can further our goal to provide your students with a safe and secure environment.

Staying After Normal School Hours

Students who choose to stay at school after normal school hours must have a legitimate reason to do so. Students staying after for academic reasons should be with a teacher by 2:15 and leave the building when finished. Our Monday late buses arrive at 3:30. If you finish with your teacher before the late bus arrives, you should wait in the lobby until arrival. Students involved in extra-curricular activities are discouraged from staying after school waiting for that event. When time permits, students should go home and come back at a reasonable time before that event. In the case of practices in which students have to stay at school, coaches are required to supervise their athletes prior to their assigned practices. Each coach should have a designated area for their athletes to go prior to practice.

Parking Procedures

When applying for parking privileges, parents and students should be aware of the following:

  • Parking permits are not transferable and cannot be given, traded or sold for any reason. The cost is $150.00.
  • All vehicles parked on school grounds are required to be locked.
  • All vehicles must be operated in a safe manner.
  • When driving on school grounds, the school’s speed limit is 15 miles per hour.
  • All vehicles must display the parking permit hung on the rear view mirror or placed on the dash of the vehicle.
  • All vehicles are to be parked only in designated student parking areas.

All vehicles must display a parking permit beginning the first day of school. In order to facilitate this, permits will be sold the Wednesday before school starts from 2PM until 4PM in Lancer Hall. At that time, you should have a completed application along with a check for $200. Make checks payable to Robert E Lee HS. Applications are available in the main office. No permit will be sold to any student with an outstanding financial obligation to the school. Check with the Finance Office before submitting your application. I encourage you to take advantage of this process. We usually have enough parking for anyone wishing to park, but in the event we have more applications than parking spaces, permits would be issued on a first come first serve basis to qualified students. If you qualify for free ($20) or reduced lunch ($100), pick that documentation up from the cafeteria manager and attach it to your application. Beginning the first day of school, if you don’t have a permit, you will not be able to park on school grounds.

It is very important that only authorized vehicles be parked at Lee High School. Therefore, all vehicles parked on school grounds must display a permit. Failure to do so or any violation of the above parking rules could result in a fine of $50.00 and /or your parking privileges being suspended or revoked. Further violations or failure to pay the fine could result in your vehicle being towed. In addition, your permit could be suspended or revoked for any violation of the rules outlined in the Student Responsibilities and Rights. This includes leaving school grounds without permission.

Lost and Found

Lost and found articles are eventually secured in trailer 10. If you lose something, check at the main office, with the security department, and with the custodians prior to checking in trailer 10. At the end of each semester, unclaimed articles are given to charity.

Leaving School Grounds

Leaving school grounds during school hours without permission is forbidden. Drivers can lose their parking privileges for an extended period of time and passengers can be referred to their Principal for discipline. All students must check out through attendance. The parking lot is “off limits” during school hours without a pass.

Locker Security

Lockers are the property of the Fairfax County Public School System. Used properly, our lockers are secure. Students who use our lockers are responsible for safeguarding their property. Lockers or combinations should not be shared. Students should make sure the door is properly closed and latched. Any theft should be reported immediately to the security department.

Visitor Policy

All visitors during the school day must check in at the main office. All legitimate visitors are required to show a picture I.D., and sign in. Visitors are required to wear a visitor pass while in the building. All visitors during the school day must have a legitimate reason before access to the building will be allowed. Past students, siblings, friends, etc. will not be given access to the building during school hours.
