Lee FBLA Collect Big for Project ASK!
Posted: February 28, 2008
Lee's Future Business Leaders concluded its annual drive to help Project ASK, The Association for the Support of Children with Cancer. The drive focuses efforts to help Viginia's teens with cancer since that age group is often overlooked.

The committee headed by juniors, Adil Kadir, and Michael Kiflezghi worked for three months to develop materials to assist the NOVA Region schools and to promote awareness of the ASK organization. In the end they were the most successful team in the 12 year history of the drive.

Seventeen Northern Virginia Region Schools participated in the NOVA Region Wish List Drive for Project ASK and gave a total of over $10,000 in donated items. Over $1,000 was given by Lee's Lancers.

The reception's special guest was Mrs. Anne Cuomo, Exective Director of the ASK Board of Directors. She was quite impressed by the number of students who assisted with the reception held here at Lee High School. Other participating schools included: Annandale HS Chantilly HS, Edison HS, George C. Marshall HS, Herndon HS, James Madison HS, Langley HS, McLean HS, Mount Vernon HS, Oakton HS, Robert E. Lee HS, Robinson Secondary, South County Secondary, South Lakes HS, TC Williams HS, Washington Lee HS, and Westfield HS. A special thanks to Oakton HS for acting as a drop off location for county schools so that they didn't have to drive as far for the reception. This year's theme was, "Bringing Help, Happiness, & Hope to Teens in Need."

Our Lancer FBLA certainly succeeded. Should you or anyone you know need the assistance of the ASK organization, more information can be obtained at www.askweb.org.
