Life Science (7th Grade)
Teachers: Vasanti Alsi Sona Sharma-Chibbers Sheila Scott-Mabry Susan Williams Special Ed Teachers: Faiza Alam, Raquel Joyner The Life Science curriculum emphasize a more complex understanding of change, cycles, patterns, and relationships in the living world. Students build on basic principles related to these concepts by exploring the cellular organization and the classification of organisms; the dynamic relationships among organisms, populations, communities and ecosystems; and change as a result of the transmission of genetic information from generation to generation. Inquiry skills at this level include organization and mathematical analysis of data, manipulating variables in experimentation, and identifying sources of experimental error. - Adapted from the Life Science Standards of Learning |

Physical Science (8th Grade)
Teachers: Sheila Scott-Mabry Sissy Moses Sharon Pimsler Mike Savage Special Ed Teachers: Kidist Menberu ESOL Teacher: Philip Spivey In the 8th grade physical science course, Investigating Matter and Energy, students explore three main content themes - properties of Matter, Forces and Motion, and Energy Transformations. They observe the physical and chemical properties of matter. They learn that the evdience of energy is often a change in temperature or a change in motion. They apply theses physical science concepts to everyday experiences on earth.
