Dear Parents:
11.14.08
Here’s the latest news from Lanier:
* Ordering Yearbooks/Recent Mailer: Jostens, our new yearbook company, is contacting parents directly via the mail. This system is for your convenience. Jostens has sent a form to each student household with the student's name and an ID number that can be used to order a yearbook. If students lose the number, they can request the information from Jostens. Just in case you missed the first one, another form will be mailed to your household in December. When you order, there will be a site that asks questions that help you find Lanier. It is really easy to use and you may pay with a credit card. You can also send checks to Jostens. We are changing our ordering system because experience has demonstrated that many parents forget whether they have ordered a yearbook. Some parents, for example, have accidentally ordered as many as three yearbooks for their child. This new system will allow parents to go online and check to see exactly what you have ordered. By agreement with Fairfax County Public Schools, please know that Jostens is strictly prohibited from using your address for any other reason than sending you information about ordering yearbooks. You may also choose to order by going to: jostensyearbook.com .
Reminders:
* PTA Treasurer Needed: The Lanier PTA is in need of a volunteer to take over the position of PTA Treasurer ASAP. See your student for information about available magazines and how to place an order. Thank you for your support.
* Drama Production Coming Soon: This year’s fall show will be a one-act entitled "Hamlette" by Allison Williams. The students will perform at the VTA 2008 Young People’s Theatre Festival in Virginia Beach on November 15th. They will then perform in the Robert C. Russell Auditorium at Lanier on November 21st & 22nd at 7:30 p.m. All tickets will be $5.00 and sold at the door.
