Seventh Grade Exploratory Wheel
The seventh grade students participate in an Exploratory Wheel Program. Students create two and three-dimensional forms using a variety of media to include drawing , painting, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture and computer graphics.
Through this process students gain knowledge of:
- Principles and Elements of Design
- The application of the medium, materials and tools
- Historical content and cultural differences in the visual arts and the relationships to social, economic and political development of thoughts and ideas
- Interdisciplinary learning by making connections between other content/subject areas

Eighth Grade Intermediate Art
The eighth grade elective Intermediate Art Curriculum is based on a semester long program. This program provides students an opportunity to expand their knowledge of the visual arts and processes through cultural expression, art history, aesthetics, and art criticism. Students will be creating two and three-dimensional forms using a variety of media to include drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture and computer graphics.
Through this process emphasis will be placed on:
- Organizing the principles and elements of design
- Creative problem solving
- Craftsmanship
- Managing materials and tools skillfully
- Interdisciplinary learning by making connections between other content/ subject areas on a global level
