Dear Lanier Middle School Parents,
    
I’m excited to inform you about the start of Lanier’s After-School Program for the 2011-12 school year.  Lanier Middle School is committed to promoting active participation in extracurricular activities to support the academic mission and enrich the lives of Lanier students. 
After-School Program Mission

Our shared philosophy is that students who engage in these programs are more likely to develop positive attitudes towards school, achieve full academic potential, and become productive citizens. Students are encouraged to maintain a balance between their instructional studies, after-school activities, and other outside interests.  Throughout the course of this school year, your child will have an opportunity to get involved in an array of clubs, volunteer opportunities and recreational activities.

Program Insight & Information

Registration:  Your child MUST register to be in the Lanier After-School Program, even if your child is staying for homework/subject help with a teacher, National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) and SCA.  Registration forms must be signed and returned to the main office BEFORE he/she can participate in the program.   Registration forms are located in the Main Office, Mr. Dejo’s office and here online.
Start dates:  The Lanier After-School Program for 2011-2012 will begin on September 19th.  The program will run thru June 8th with new clubs to be added quarterly in order to allow students an opportunity to access a broader range of offerings throughout the school year. 
Late Bus:  Late buses will be provided on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Buses will depart at 4:30pm.  There will be no late buses on Monday and Friday afternoons.  Late bus schedules will be posted in the cafeteria by Back to School Night.
