Students in grades 3-8 who fail SOL tests my a narrow margin can be retested before the end of the year with parent permission. All parents were mailed a letter explaining the process. Spanish and Korean transalations
Student Information System (SIS) Parent Accounts
Parents of Lanier students should soon receive a letter containing information about their Student Information System (SIS) Parent Account. SIS Parent Accounts are an online tool providing parents the ability to access and view their child’s student information, including attendance, discipline and health records, report cards and more. The letter will provide parents with direction on how to register.

Principal Selection Process
The process to selelct a new principal has begun at Lanier Middle School. The Region 5 Superintent Dr. Frances Ivey and Michael Parker from Human Resources came to Lanier to speak with parents and staff about the process to select a new principal. The presentation is attached for the Lanier community to review.
Fairfax City Teacher of the Year
Art teacher Leah Dubray was named Fairfax City Teacher of the Year. She will be recognized on May 14th at a luncheon in the City of Fairfax.
Lanier Counseling Department Recognized by RAMP
The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) has recognized eight Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) school counseling programs as model programs, awarding them the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation for 2015 for successfully demonstrating how their comprehensive school counseling programs benefit all students. The RAMP designation, awarded to schools that align with the criteria set in the ASCA national model, recognizes schools that are committed to delivering a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program and an exemplary educational environment.
