Students in Wind Symphony must audition for ALL District 12 Band and may perform a solo or be in an ensemble at the District 2 Solo/Ensemble Festival.

Content includes study of the appropriate ensemble literature, and rehearsal and performance techniques from the various areas of musical composition. Performances and rehearsals, both in and out of school, may be required. Schools may also require membership in intermediate or advanced band class, and may require participation in marching band. Instrumentation of the group is at the discretion of the instructor. After school rehearsals and performances with and without selected band classes are required. Marching band techniques, rehearsals and performances are included and required in this course.
