We’re glad you came to visit. Here you’ll find ways to make the most
of your reading time.
Tips Toward Better Reading:
Choose to Read!
Did you know that there is a powerful link between time spent reading and reading achievement? According to studies, students who choose to read make higher grades in school (Sweet, Guthrie and Ng 1998) and perform better on standardized reading tests (Gottfried, 1990).
Help your child choose to read. Let your child know that you value reading by talking about a book they are reading, a book you are reading, well-known book series, magazines, favorite genres, how they choose books, favorite authors, and the list goes on. The possibilities are endless!
