A Clean Sweep!
And rake ... and shovel ... Members of the Lane PTA and the community used those tools and many more on Saturday, October 31, when they spent several hours cleaning up, raking up, and sprucing up our school grounds. Lane Lions of all ages came out to enjoy the cool (if a bit damp) air and share the workload. Thanks to all who participated. The grounds look great! Morning Meetings Start Each Day Off Right!
Has your child come home talking about that day’s Morning Meeting? Wonder what they’re talking about? Take a look below and see!
Each day, every class begins with a Morning Meeting, where the teacher and students share a greeting, an activity, an interactive message, and a sharing component for the day. These meetings build community and foster communication and set the tone for a positive day!

Sharing the day’s news is an important part of the Morning Meeting. |
Handshakes, eye contact, and social cues are taught through greetings. |
Ms. Gump uses her interactive SmartBoard for her Morning Message. Every student in her 2nd grade class gets to answer the day’s question on the board. The questions are often tied to learning that is happening in the room. |
