Hearts for Haiti

Lane Lions Caring and Sharing

A school wide project

Thank you for your support of our “Hearts for Haiti” campaign.
We skyrocketed past our goal and raised over $5,000!

The money we raised will help support the Red Cross efforts in Haiti by providing shelter, water and sanitation, healthcare, and general emergency relief for the vicitims of the devastating earthquake.

Since the earthquake struck in January, the global Red Cross network has:

• handed out tarps, tents and shelter kits to nearly 373,000 people
• provided relief items for 400,000 people
• distributed 60 million liters of clean drinking water
• built more than 1,300 latrines
• treated more than 86,000 people at Red Cross hospitals or mobile clinics
• helped vaccinate more than 152,000 people against deadly diseases
• coordinated the shipment of more than 2,100 units of blood to medical facilities in Haiti
• registered more than 28,400 people on its family linking website
• deployed more than 900 responders to Haiti, including 165 from the American Red Cross.

When each dollar is received, approximately 39% goes to shelter, 18% to emergency preparedness, 17% to water and sanitation, 16% to livelihoods, 5% to disaster preparedness, and 5% to health.
