GENERAL SUPPLY LIST ~ 2008 - 2009 School Year

These lists are NOT team specific and are subject to change based on your child's team assignment. Teams may require additional supplies.

SEVENTH GRADE

Completed Summer Math Packet (find it online at www.fcps.edu/LakeBraddockSS/)

Four 1 ½ inch binders (different colors if possible)

20 tab dividers

Notebook paper, standard (wide) ruled, no spiral paper

Three one-subject spiral notebooks

One marble composition book

¼ inch graph paper (for school and home use)

Post-it Notes (3-inch by 3-inch)

Large supply of #2 pencils

Large supply of dark blue or black ballpoint pens

Two red felt-tip pens (such as Flair)

Set of colored pencils

Two highlighters (different colors)

Glue stick

Ruler

Eraser

Small pencil sharpener

Small stapler

Small student scissors

One large zippered pencil pouch (to hold the pens, pencils, highlighters, glue stick, eraser, stapler, scissors, etc.)

Two boxes of tissues for team use

If taking Algebra: One three-subject spiral notebook

If taking Algebra or Geometry : TI 83, TI 83+ or TI 84+ calculator is required for home use. Loaners are available. Math teachers will provide calculators for classroom use.

 

EIGHTH GRADE:

Three hard-cover binders (1 ½ - 2 inch)

Dividers without pockets (suggest three packs of five dividers)

Zippered pencil bags (suggest one per binder)

One composition book

Blue or black ink pens

Red ink pens

Colored pencils

One heavy-duty 7-pocket portfolio for science class (canvas, not plastic)

Two boxes of tissues for team use

If taking Math 8 : Scientific calculator for home use only. Math teachers will provide calculators for classroom use.

If taking Algebra or Geometry : TI 83, TI 83+ or TI 84+ calculator is required for home use. Loaners are available. Math teachers will provide calculators for classroom use.

If taking Geometry : Compass (for home use) and graph paper (1/4 inch grid for home and school use)

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL ESOL STUDENTS


Lined loose leaf paper (100 sheets)

Pencil pouch

Six black or blue pens and two red pens

Small student scissors

Two glue sticks

No. 2 pencils (sharpened) with erasers

Colored pencils (one set/sharpened)

One highlighter

Bilingual dictionary (bring to class everyday)

English dictionary (to use at home)

•  First Day of School (September 2): Middle school students need to bring only paper and a pen or pencil.

•  Please mark your child's name on all items brought to school (school supplies, lunch bags, jackets, etc.).

•  Students will be assigned lockers. When considering which type of book bag or backpack to buy, please keep in mind the dimensions of the locker (11 ¾" wide and 11" deep).
