ESOL
Description of the Lake Braddock Middle School ESOL program:
The middle school ESOL program comprises a range of courses to meet the cultural, linguistic, and academic needs of middle school English Language Learners. ESOL is a service that is provided to students to develop their academic language proficiency. ESOL students are assigned an English proficiency level based on their individual assessment data. Students move to the next level when they meet assessment criteria. The ESOL program promotes high achievement for ESOL students by providing appropriate, comprehensible, academic instruction and by supporting students in both the mainstream classroom and in sheltered instruction.
