ABOUT US

Tom Garber is the associate principal and supervises the high school special education department. Tom is a JMU alumnus who began his career with FCPS in 1979 at JEB Stuart High School . He was awarded a sabbatical in 1989 and completed a master's degree in library science (MLS) at the University of Maryland . He spent the next four

years at South Lakes High School , where he served as assistant librarian and head swim coach.

In 1993, Tom came to Lake Braddock as the media and technology coordinator. He gained his principal certification through George Mason University and was promoted to sub school principal in 1998. Tom left Lake Braddock in July 2006, and served as the Superintendent's designee in the Office of Hearings and Legal for 18 months. Tom was thrilled to return to Lake Braddock in January 2008, when he was promoted to the position of associate principal. Tom was the recipient of the Robert Spillane Leadership Award in 2006 and enjoys swimming, writing, and golf.
