Business Partners

For the first time, FCPS is attempting a business partnership that involves an entire school pyramid and multiple businesses in the region. On a recent fall evening, over three hundred and fifty members of the Lake Braddock pyramid gathered to celebrate the unique kickoff. The schools that make up the pyramid are Burke Center, Cherry Run Elementary, Kings Glen Elementary, Kings Park Elementary, Lake Braddock Secondary, Sangster Elementary, and White Oaks Elementary. The business community is represented by ALLNEWSCO, Inc., Autometric,Inc., Gannett Offset, Interstate Van Lines, Inc., and Sterling Software. These organizations and schools form the Lake Braddock Pyramid Business Partnership.
MISSION
The mission of the Lake Braddock Pyramid Partnership is to combine the resources of the Partnership's business community with the needs of the Lake Braddock Pyramid schools to provide a safe learning environment that stimulates the intellectual curiosity and community awareness of students to increase student achievement and build self esteem. The goal of this Partnership is to bring the varied expertise of the business partners to the students by providing: tutors to assist in their academic development; exposure to career opportunities and the applicability of academic courses to the world of work; technological assistance and enhancement for in-school programs; mentors to positively affect the students' education and maturation; and teacher training.
