THE UPS STORE OF SOUTH LAKES IN RESTON DONATED 4800 BOOKS WITH A RETAIL VALUE OF
$19,000.00 TO DOGWOOD, TERRASET, LAKE ANNE AND FOREST EDGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND RESTON INTERFAITH, A LOCAL NON-PROFIT.
With money raised from the 2008 holiday season, The UPS Store of South Lakes was able to donate 4800 books on behalf of the Toys for Tots Literacy Program to 4 elementary schools and a non-profit on November 18, 2009.
This year The UPS Store's goal is to raise $10,000 to support the children in the Reston community. Fund raising ends on December 23rd. Please visit The UPS Store in South Lakes (map) and make a contribution today.
Initiative for Public Art - Reston
The group, IPAR, expects to stimulate a community-wide discussion about the role that public art can play in urban places and community life, and plans to commission new artworks that are engaging, memorable and recognized for their artistic excellence.
