City

Dr. B. Hive, from the
American Nature Tours Society, arrives, reads the
proclamation announcing the grand opening of Ant City and
cuts the official ribbon. Let the fun begin!

One of the greeters
welcomes visitors and asks them to sign the guest
book.

|
There are tons
of things for tourists to see and do at Ant
City.
|
You can play a math
addition game with picnic mats and plastic ants.
|

You can make an ant hat or an ant rubbing.
|
There are plenty of
stories to hear. Those written by famous authors or those
written by the creators of Ant City (classbooks).
|
|
|
Visitors, young
and old, like to hear stories about ants.
|
|
Ant experts love to
explain about the crawling critters and the chambers you can
find in an anthill.

|
|
|
This is a food hole where
worker ants store the food.

|

You can make things at Ant City, like the four stages of an
ant's life cycle. The workers at this stop will tell you all
about the stages and they especially like the part when the
boy ant dies and gets eaten.
|

Talking to ant experts is always fun and
informative.

Dr. B. Hive gets a little help from a kindergarten student
with a computer activity.
|

Ant tunnels are everywhere in Ant City....even on the
windows!
|
|
Of course, everyone likes
to watch real ants at work, even these third
graders.

A poem by Sarah:
Ants, ants,
everywhere.
On the ground and in the air.
I love Ants!
