Welcome to our webpage about horses!

We are third grade students who want to share our love of horses with you. Although we don't own our own horses, we have taken riding lessons, collect horse figures and love to read about them. Some of our favorite horse breeds are miniature, quarter and paint.

Miniature horses are smaller than regular horses. They can't be bigger then 34 inches at the withers. Withers is a name for the horses shoulders.

We would like to thank Annie W. for the use of the picture of her horse, Little Lady. You can see more pictures of Little Lady at Annie's Web Page.

Paints (or pintos) have special coloring. During the days of the Old West, Paints were one of the most popular horses with both cowboys and Native Americans.

Do you know why some horses are called Quarter Horses? Click here to find out.
