Horses of Different Colors
Chestnuts are yellowish or deep orange in color. The mane and tail are the same color as the body. Sorrel is used to describe the yellow horses.

Roans are a mixture of colors.

A Palomino is like the color of the golden sheen of a brand new penny or pale honey.

A Paint is like a deep black or any other color on white.

This is Stephanie's drawing of a Paint.
Appaloosas are mostly white with black spots. There are 8 main coat patterns:

Snowflake (dark background with white spots)

White Blanket (dark forehand, white over quarters without spots)

Leopard (white background with dark spots)

Spotted Blanket (dark forehand, white over quarters with spots)

Frosted Hip (dark with white spots or speckles)

Near Leopard (leopard-spotted body but different colored head and legs)

Marble (mottled roan or bay with darker patches)

Few-Spot Leopard (white with a few roan patches or spots)
