Orangutan

Orangutans live in primary lowland swamps in Borneo and the mountain forests in northern Sumatra, Indonesia. They live up to 50 years. They shelter themselves from rain and sun by holding leafy branches over their heads.

They eat fruit, leaves, bark, flowers, nuts, and small mammals. Their enemies are man, hunters, and habitat loss.

Orangutans have a short, thick set body, long arms, short legs, shaggy and reddish coat.

They are the largest tree living mammals.
