Chimpanzee

Chimpanzees live in central Africa They live in tropical rainforests and woodlands.

They build nests in trees and live in bands.

They eat fruits, seeds, flowers,leaves, and insects. They also hunt and eat meat such as monkeys and pigs.

Males are 3-4 feet tall and weigh up to 88 pounds in the wild, and 130 pounds in captivity. Coats have thick black hair. Chimpanzees have long arms and no tail. Their hands and feet can grab.

They can live up to 45 years in the wild.

  • The male is the boss of the family.
  • They can make simple tools.
  • They are threatened with extinction.
  • They see in color.
  • They are extremely intelligent animals.
