Welcome to the speech and language program at Kings Park! The speech and language clinicians serve children in the non-categorical preschool program and grades kindergarten through grade three. Our services are integrated in a variety of ways to meet our students’ needs. We are excited to be working with some of the children in their classrooms where we can provide support for them as they learn new and exciting concepts as part of their curriculum. Other children are provided support in learning resource rooms or in small group working arrangements. A collaborative approach with other services, such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, special education teachers, and vision and hearing itinerants is utilized. Children who receive services may be working on a variety of deficit areas including articulation, voice, fluency, concept and language development, and phonemic awareness skills.
If you have questions regarding your child’s speech and language development, please feel free to contact us at 703-426-7000 or via email. We are available to answer your questions and provide information about a variety of topics in the area of speech and language development.
