Welome to Music!
When you are in the third grade, you can look forward to learning how to read music and play the recorder. In our program, we work hard on systematically integrating our music curriculum with the core subject areas taught by the classroom teachers. Since third graders take the SOL test towards the end of the year, we become a support system by putting their information to music and dance. Throughout the year, be sure and ask your child what songs they have learned that help them memorize their facts!

Each year we are excited to put on a musical production involving the second graders. “Bugz”, “Once Upon A Lily Pad”, and “A World of Music” are just a few of the wonderful performances that have rivaled Broadway in the past. June finds us wrapping up the year with a musical bang! Our kindergartners and first graders get to practice rhyming skills while training to become a “triple threat” (singing, acting, and dancing) to a musical of their own. These mini-musicals are put on in an intimate setting of the music classroom. Stay tuned to find out when your “star” will shine!
