Home About Us For Parents For Community For Staff New Students

As guidance counselors we are an integral part of the total school program, providing direct assistance to students, parents, and educational staff to promote a positive school environment. This is accomplished through strategies that influence the academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs of students. Student counseling, individually or in small groups, parent and staff consultation, and classroom guidance instruction are interventions used to promote positive adjustment and to assist in maximizing each student's potential. We also sponsor the Student Host program to help make new students feel welcome to Kings Park School. We help implement the Bruin Buddies, a mentoring program with Lake Braddock Secondary students. Each child has an invitation to celebrate his/her birthday by eating lunch with us during his/her birthday month. We truly are advocates for every student in the school.
