 Students in Fairfax County come from all over Virginia, the US, and the world, bringing with them a rich range of backgrounds, experiences, and knowledge. Because language barriers can impede the learning of students whose first language is not English, Fairfax County Public Schools has created the English for Speakers of Other Language (ESOL) program.
At Kings Park we are eager to help our second language learners expand their vocabularies and gain confidence in the use of English. Through the joint efforts of classroom teachers, specialists, and ESOL teachers, children receive extra help in the classroom and in small groups to learn to read and write in English. The staff also helps the children learn the vocabulary and concepts in math, social studies, and science.
