 Welcome to third grade! Your child is lucky to have the opportunity to be part of a technology rich environment where they will have access to a laptop computer from mobile labs shared by the third grade teachers. The computers and the internet are integrated throughout the day. The students use the computers to research topics such as the Ancient Civilizations of Egypt, China, Greece, Rome, and Mali. They use the computers to practice math activities by creating problems or using online virtual manipulatives. Multiplication and Division are challenging topics for your children. The use of multiple resources improves understanding and provides multiple ways to access knowledge and skills.
In addition to the computers, each third grade classroom has a Smartboard interactive whiteboard. This is an outstanding technological resource that meets the individual needs of your child and reaches students with different learning styles.
