As a primary school, reading, writing, and mathematics serve as the foundation of your child’s program. Beginning in kindergarten, we will teach your child to use three cueing systems – phonics, meaning, and grammar – to become a successful reader and writer. Throughout the primary day, varied, carefully-paced lessons and hands-on activities will help your child learn concepts in an exciting, meaningful way.

The county Program of Studies, specifying curriculum objectives for each grade level, incorporates the Virginia Standards of Learning. Kings Park encourages collaboration among teachers – at their grade levels, across grade levels, and with specialists – to share successful strategies and materials to maximize your child’s learning. Your child’s teacher will provide you with customized information about your child’s program on our 24-7 Learning sites.
