Welcome to first grade at Kings Park, where the doors open wide on an exciting year of reading, writing, exploring the natural world, and learning foundational mathematics and social studies concepts. We are five experienced educators, for whom student learning is the top priority. Like you, we have high expectations for your child. Computers and the Internet are integrated throughout our day, but along with this emphasis on technology, we still prize above all else the written word and the good idea.

As a parent of a first grader, you will be actively involved in your child’s learning. We encourage parents to read nightly with their children and take advantage of the wide range of enriching experiences available in the DC metropolitan area.
