Students may purchase breakfast for $1.25, which includes juice, milk, and a choice of cereals, biscuits, and other breads. A menu is sent home to parents during the first week of school or upon enrollment during the year. To participate in the breakfast program, students should go directly to the cafeteria when they arrive at school.
Nutritious school lunches are served in the cafeteria daily at a cost of $2.15. A menu will be sent home every two months. Milk is served with each lunch or may be purchased separately $ .50 per half pint. A choice of low-fat chocolate milk and low-fat or whole unflavored milk is available. Children with milk allergies may receive juice upon receipt of a physician's statement.
A computerized cash register system lets families purchase meals in advance and provide an emergency fund should the child forget his/her breakfast or lunch money. Students who prepay for their breakfasts, lunch, or a la carte items receive a personalized account card with a bar-coded ID number to use for meals and a la carte purchases. You can add money to this card online by going to mylunchmoney.com. Enroll in the program and you can conveniently add money to your child's account. The students lunch cards are arranged by classroom as students enter the lunch line. To open or add to an account, parents should send a check or cash to the cafeteria manager via their child in the morning. Checks should be made payable to Kings Park Elementary School .
Parents are encouraged to join their child for lunch. Adult lunches cost $3.00. We ask that dining guests check in at the office for a visitor's badge before meeting the child's class in the school lobby.
Applications for free or reduced price breakfasts and lunches are available at the school. All requests are confidential and prescribed state guidelines are applied to each request.
