This program is designed to make the transition for new students to our school easier. One girl and one boy from each class are trained as a Student Host. Their job is to provide a new student with information, show them around the school, introduce them to staff and other students and be a friend to them as they adjust to our school. These Student Hosts are given the opportunity to build on skills such as; responsibility, sense of community and leadership, self-esteem, organization, and communication.

Two student hosts come from each class at each grade level. Above are the fourth grade student hosts. At right above are the fifth graders and directly to the right are the sixth graders.

Mr. K., our guidance counselor, meets a new student as she tours the school.	Hosts meet to learn how to do their job the best they can.

Two student hosts explain the lost and found area of the cafeteria.	Sometimes they assist new classmates with written tasks.
