Message from Mr. Elson
It is with great pride and joy that I lead Kings Glen Elementary each day. As the fifth principal of this wonderful school, having served in this capacity since 2005, I am inspired each and every day by the work of our staff and students. Through consistently high expectations and a commitment to excellence on everyone's part, there has been a steady increase in our students' academic growth and success over the years.
Leading a school takes the work of a team, for sure. Kay Mallory, our Assistant Principal since 2005, provides outstanding instructional leadership and logistical support each day. In addition, our staff is empowered to serve as “the principal of the classroom,” meaning we truly have leaders all over the building! Most importantly, we are blessed to serve the finest students in all of FCPS. These young ladies and gentlemen take a shared responsibility for their learning, and they serve as some of our most critical leaders by setting the standard for themselves and their classmates every day.
Since its opening in 1969, Kings Glen Elementary has enjoyed a great partnership with the incredibly supportive parents who send their children to us each day. Because of the effective collaboration between staff, students and parents, our school community has been able to achieve our school mission of ensuring high levels of learning for all children.
