Educational Philosophy
Mrs. Raleigh's philosophy when working with students with special needs come from two famous historical figures:

Albert Einstein:
"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Franklin D. Roosevelt:
"It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something."

She firmly believes in tapping into the strengths of students with special needs and finding ways to help them strive. She makes learning a invigorating experience which she hopes will lead to a love of learning for a life time.

 Mrs. Raleigh was born and raised in Woodstock, Georgia and now lives in Springfield, Virginia . After traveling for 13 years around the United States and to Japan with her husband and the army, Mrs. Raleigh finally earned her M.A. in Special Education from George Mason University. She works closely with the FCPS Middle School Social Studies Department and the FCPS Office of Special Education to design county-wide assessments and instructional activities for students with varied learning needs. When she isn't teaching, she enjoys reading, watching baseball and football, and being with her family, friends, and pets.
