Educational Philosophy
"Tell me and I forget. Show me and I remember. Involve me and
I understand." - Chinese Proverb
Ms. Miller believes in a hands-on, inquiry based
learning style where students take an active role in their own understanding
of science. Through engaging activities and relevance to her students
lives, she hopes through differentiated instruction that each student
will be provided with the tools and knowledge to be successful in
and out of the classroom and most importantly HAVE FUN!

This
will be Ms. Miller's first year teaching here at Kilmer Middle School
and she could not be more excited about the opportunity! She graduated
from James Madison University with a B.S. in Biology and recently
just completed her Masters, also at JMU, in Secondary Education.
She was born and raised in State College, PA before moving to Virginia.
Her enthusiasm for teaching and avid love for science is what made
Ms. Miller want to teach middle school science.
In her spare time, Ms. Miller enjoys to travel, read books, play
and watch sports and engage in outdoor activities such as hiking
and running with her dog Koda.
