Educational Philosophy
Mrs. Mackenzie's goal is to foster success in a variety of lifetime fitness activities and sports for her students. Mrs. Mackenzie's aspiration for her students is to cultivate decision making skills, confidence, and the desire to be active for life. Mrs. Mackenzie's objective is to guide students to a deeper understanding of their responsibility to make good choices to keep themselves physically, emotionally and socially healthy.

Upon graduation from Ursinus College, Mrs. Mackenzie taught health & physical education and coached Varsity lacrosse at Upper Dublin High School before moving to Virginia with her husband, Mac. She taught at Flint Hill Preparatory School in Oakton for three years before taking a leave of absence to raise her two sons, David and Scott. Mrs. Mackenzie has been teaching at Kilmer Middle School since the fall of 2000 and she loves the teaching environment, the students, and the staff!

Mrs. Mackenzie enjoys extensive travel. She has attended Olympics in Atlanta, Sydney, Athens, and Torino with friends and family. In addition to sports, Mrs. Mackenzie enjoys photography, fishing, camping, golfing, boating, skiing, and exercising.
