Ms. Kreitman believes that students sometimes need a variety of opportunities to show how they have mastered material and works diligently with students and parents to help all students feel successful in her classroom.
Service
She is on the Kilmer Character Counts Committee and will work with Ms. Appling on Kilmer Care.

Ms. Kreitman became a middle school teacher because she enjoys the transitional nature of the middle school student. She enjoys helping students in this age group to develop autonomy, and loves the idealism that many of the students bring to learning. She has worked for the past 24 years as a middle school science teacher in Fairfax County and is actively involved in curriculum development. She is one of the two remaining original teachers who opened the GTC at Kilmer in 1999-2000. She enjoys traveling and seeing new places and cultures. She is especially fond of the western U.S. and has traveled and hiked in the Rockies and the southwest. She hails from Massachusetts and has a special affinity for New England . She attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst as an undergraduate. She is married and has a 12-year-old son who is in the GTC at Kilmer on the Voyagers team. She has read most of the offerings of Robin Cook, Diana Gabaldon and Lillian Jackson Braun, Patricia Cornwell and enjoys books by E.O.Wilson. |
