Educational Philosophy
Ms. Cashmanbelieves that students' success is determined by their
willingness to work hard, challenge themselves, and work through
problems instead of stopping when the going gets rough. It is crucial
that teachers and students are honest and kind with one another
because people are judged and remembered by their words and actions.

Ms. Cashman was born in Washington, D.C. and has lived in
the Metropolitan area for the majority of her life. She graduated
from Hayfield Secondary School. She completed her undergraduate studies
at James Madison University (Go Dukes!) and earned a Master's degree
in Education Leadership from George Mason University. Ms. Cashman
worked as a science and history teacher before coming to Kilmer as
the School Based Technology Specialist. In her position, Ms. Cashman
works to help her colleagues to incorporate technology into their
teaching to better engage students in their learning. Ms. Cashman
comes from a large family and loves to spend time with them. She often
spends the majority of the summer and the holidays at her family's
home in Maine. She also escapes to the beach as often as she can.
Her interests include reading, walking her dog Delaney, going to Nationals
games, and scuba diving. |
