TASK

You will need to find information about your:
• Special powers or talents
• Lineage - family history
• “Your story” - each god, goddess, or hero has a special story to reveal his or her place in history.
• Culture - representing your heritage. Your research on culture should consist of clothing, food, and entertainment.

Once you have enough research you can begin to create the items to go in your time capsule.

*Required Elements*

There are two required elements you must have:

1. The first item is a coat of arms with symbols on it to represent you. You might consider characteristics about your personality, special powers, and events in your life.

2. The second required item is a short report on one aspect of your culture. You must write at least three paragraphs and also include a fitting title. You may consider writing about clothing, food, sports, music, or houses. Adding a piece of clip art or an image that correlates to the topic is also a consideration. NO PLAGIARISM!!!

After you have created the two required items, you will choose two more items from the list below to include in your time capsule. You must choose one item from list A and one item from list B.

LIST A

Theme song - Pick a song you believe is your theme song. Choose wisely. Include the lyrics and two paragraphs explaining why this song is your theme song.

Newspaper article - Write a current article about a newsworthy event in your life. You must have a minimum of three paragraphs.

Diary entry - Write a one page journal entry about an important day in your life.

Original poem - Write an original poem about yourself. You must have eight or more lines and it must be illustrated.

LIST B

Cartoon - Create an eight panel cartoon on an event in your life. You must use color unless you have a special talent with sketching and shading. Ask the Council of Gods if you are unsure about your cartoon.

Collage - Create a collage to represent yourself and your personality. Remember that a collage is a smattering of pictures overlapping each other.


Original art work - Create a self-portrait. You must use color unless you have a special talent with sketching and shading. Ask the Council of Gods if you are unsure about your drawing.

Student generated family tree- Research your family history to create a family tree explaining to whom you are related. You must create the final product that goes in the time capsule. You cannot print something off a website that someone else created and take credit for it!
