Express and Explore

     This year the Music and Sensory program has a new name: Express and Explore.  This should accurately reflect what we do in class- investigate different topics using musical games, instruments, and our senses and then develop and express our opinions about them.  Themes this year will include Car Wash, Gardening, Coffee, and more!  Students and staff alike appreciate the therapeutic benefit this class provides by offering balanced opportunities for relaxation and stimulation. 
Students will practice communication, motor, and abstract thinking skills by practicing tasks such as grasping, communicating, walking, and making choices.  Augmentative communication devices, Smartboard technology, adaptive instruments, and sensory integration equipment are used to help each student communicate and participate as independently as possible. Feel free to come and join a class sometime this year- we’d love to see you in Express and Explore!
