About Us

   In our classroom, we have seven elementary age students, 2 non-ambulatory, 3 ambulatory, and 2 half and half. The students are non-verbal but have little difficulty communicating their feelings to us.  During this school year, we will be reading novels, like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Wizard of Oz and Holes.  Classroom novels will be the basis for many of our daily activities.  The activities will touch on all of our curricular areas such as literacy and math skills, independence skills, fine and gross motor skills, and communication skills. We use positioning equipment, sensory materials, and assistive technology devices to enhance our learning experiences and to focus on the student’s individual educational plans and needs. 
   We laugh throughout the school day, all the while learning.  We feel laughing is the best way to learn. Every day brings new sets of challenges and new reasons to celebrate.  My students reach heights many people never thought possible; they are amazing.
