About Us
Welcome to room 327! I am excited to be working with many of the same students again this year. We have six students and four staff in our room. Shelly and Von are with us again and we are happy to welcome a new staff to Key Center, Gustavo, who has jumped right in and made the start of the school year smooth.
This year we will continue working on expanding our vocational skills. We have many in school jobs that we are in charge of including: delivering gloves, recycle collection, stocking the schools vending and soda machines, and helping with the Key Café. We also have many out of school jobs that we will continue to visit including: Journey Church, FCPS Warehouse, Atlantic Metals, Costco, and Heatherwood Retirement Center. We work on many life-skills throughout the school day including: independence, self-care, communication, and appropriate behavior.
This year we are going to have some fun talking about sports! We will begin the year with football, then move to basketball. We will then talk about the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games, and finish up with spring baseball. The students will learn about the sports, how to play them, vocabulary used when discussing them, and fun facts about each sport. We will incorporate math, science, history, and reading into our sports topics.
This year is going to be a busy and fun school year in room 327J
