About Us

Welcome to room 316!  We are a class of mostly high school students.  There are currently seven students in our classroom.  One of the students in our class will be graduating this year.  Many of the students will be attending prom in the spring.  Our focus in the classroom is to prepare the students to transition out of the school system and into post graduate day support programs.  In this classroom, we work on student IEP goals integrated into large and small group activities.  These activities are often centered on a theme or topic (e.g. fall, rainforest, bugs) as we find it builds interest in attending to these goals.  We spend time strengthening daily living skills, vocational skills, appropriate social behaviors, and physical condition (e.g. ambulation, positioning).  Our class will also be going out for Community Based Instruction or CBI trips where we practice these various skills.  We love to have visitors stop by to join our daily activities!  Stop by and see us and we will show you our big classroom fish tank.
