| About Adapted Aquatics
The Key Center Adapted Aquatics Program is anticipating another successful school year. Last year we had over 100 of our students participate in the program. Our goal is to develop therapeutic, recreational, social, and water safety skills appropriate to the age and ability level of each student. The Adapted Aquatics program is incorporated in the Adapted Physical Education program. Students are given the opportunity to swim a minimum of one day per week for a 45 minute period. This schedule runs throughout the entire school year. All necessary precautions are taken to ensure the health and safety of all students. Key Center’s swimming facility is a hydrotherapy pool , with a depth of 2 feet to 4 feet and an average temperature of 95-96 degrees. Our pool is maintained according to Fairfax County Health Department Pool and Spa regulations. We will be staffed again this year by Kit Matteo (Aquatics teacher) and Paul Beck.
