College Partnership Program
The College Partnership Program (CPP), which began in 1989, nurtures positive attitudes toward academic achievement. The primary goal and emphasis of the program is to increase the number of students, particularly first generation, and minority students who enroll and succeed in college.
Students are exposed to information and opportunities that allow them to create a vision, set goals, and develop strategies that will direct them toward college choices and career goals.
In order to achieve our goals, the CPP has high school and middle school components that have different functions.
Purpose
- Introduce students to the concept of higher education as a vehicle to achieve success.
- Prepare students for college, and real world experiences as early as possible.
- Introduce students to a variety of career fields via FCPS career exploration opportunities.
- Enhance student motivation for higher academic achievement.
- Provide opportunities for students to visit selected college campuses.
Middle School CPP Participation
- The College Partnership Middle School Program is open to all seventh and eighth grade students.
- Participation in the middle school program does not guarantee placement in the high school program.
- The middle school program is exploratory and open to all students.
