The Middle School Guidance and Counseling Program is designed to deliver a comprehensive range of services for all middle school students.  The program is based on the developmental needs of students and addresses the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional aspects of pre-adolescence and adolescence.  Emphasizing life skills, students learn more about  themselves, the world around them, and the power of choices and consequences.  In order to accomplish this goal, the program focuses on the following: Academic Achievement, Career Awareness and Exploration, and Personal and Social Development.

College Partnership Program

The College Partnership Program nurtures positive attitudes toward academic achievement. The primary goal is to introduce students to the concept of higher education as a vehicle to achieve success. The Program provides a variety of activities, including campus visits, to increase students’ and parents’ knowledge of college programs. Students also will be introduced to different career fields via FCPS career exploration opportunities.

Registration Information

To schedule an appointment to register a new student, please contact the Registrar in Irving's Department of Student Services at (703) 912-4535. Registration is available by appointment only.  Parents must provide: (1) proof of residency, (2) proof of birth/citizenship (original birth certificate), (3) health documentation (immunizations), and (4) documentation of previous educational programs.  Further information on registration requirements is available on the Fairfax County Public Schools website, www.fcps.edu.  Select the “Starting School” link.

Withdrawing From Irving?

Please notify Irving's Department of Student Services registrar, in writing, of your intention to withdraw your student from our school.  Notification should include the full name of the student, last day they will be attending Irving, and the name and address of the school the student will be attending.
