BYOD at Irving
Students are encouraged to bring their personally owned devices to school to support academics. Devices can be used for taking notes, reading, research, assessments and other activities permitted by the teacher. The use of these devices is outlined in the registration form and registration is required before students can carry or use their devices within the school. Registration is offered every Thursday during Learn and Earn just outside the Library. There is more information about BYOD in FCPS at the FCPS website.
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is participating in Speak Up, a national online survey about the use of technology in schools. The information collected will help policy makers at the local, state, and national levels, as well as the business community contribute to the national dialogue about science, technology, and preparing students for the 21st century workforce.
FCPS will be participating in the survey from November 25 - December 20. The online survey is open to parents, students in K-12, teachers and staff. It is a voluntary survey and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.
To take the survey, please visit http://www.fcps.edu/is/news/speakup.shtml . Students will be asked for a secret word (password) when they take the survey. The secret word for students is fcps. The first 10 students to show proof of completion should go to room 111 to receive a Tech Titan button.
Aggregate survey results for FCPS will be available in February 2014.
