Get Connected - BYOT at Irving

Bring Your Own Tech.  To connect to the Fairfax wifi, you will need to connect using our FCPSOnBoard system. Each device is different. Check our  For Students page under get connected for all the instructions for your specific computing device. Keep in mind you will need your network password before beginning the process.  Once you are connected, the connection will be good for the whole school year.


We encourage students to bring their own technology. The benefits of using technology they are familiar with and can access outside of the classroom is an important aspect of the FCPS Portrait of a Graduate. Please see the links below to learn more. #FCPSdigcit - Parent Internet Safety Night New Date

Region 4 School-Based Technology Specialists will host an “Internet Safety and Digital Citizenship Parent Night” on Tuesday, February 9th, 2016, from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at Robinson Secondary School. Topics of discussion will include: Digital Footprint, Online Communication, Cyberbullying, and How to Talk with your Child about Difficult Issues Surrounding this New, Complex Digital World.  This event will begin in Davala Hall with a general session, followed by four breakout sessions in Davala Hall and the Ann Monday Media Center. Don't forget to follow the Twitter hashtag #FCPSDigCit.

Got Cardboard? - Google Expeditions at Irving

Irving 7th grade students all participated in the Google Expeditions Pioneer program. For a few select schools in the nation, Google  offered a virtual reality tour to showcase their newest educational tool. The 7th graders entered the world of Biomes using the Google Cardboard viewers and learned about the what makes each Biome different while immersing themselves in the 360º environment.
