Service Learning Over the Summer

7th and 8th grade students are required to complete service learning. You can get a start over the summer on these hours for a variety of activities. Take a look at the requirements and the reporting forms.


Summer Math and Reading

The Irving Math and English departments have prepared summer assignments to allow students to hone their academic skills and keep their mind sharp while school is out. Please click here for all the information and be sure and follow the instructions based on the courses your student will be taking next fall.


STATE of Virginia CTE Program winner

Congratulations to Tech Ed Teacher Matt Bechtel and the team of 7th grade Science and Math teachers for winning the Career and Technical Education Program of the Year. Irving Middle School's STEM Neighborhood Project teaches students the principles of applied architecture and engineering, environmental analysis and budget estimation to design a real-world neighborhood. 2014 kALEIDoSCOPE

It's here! The premiere literarary magazine from Irving. Here you'll find poems, short stories, a novel excerpt, personal narratives, artwork and true stories, all written and drawn by very talented students at Irving Middle School. Flip through the digital format located here and bookmark your favorite sections. There will be printed copies available at school for reading as well.




FCPS offers many digital resources that students can use throughout the summer months.  

As a reminder, the FCPS Acceptable Use Policy, signed by all students, is in effect all year long regardless of whether students use these resources at school or at home.
