About the TumbleBook Library:
The TumbleBook Library is a collection of TumbleBooks (animated, talking picture books) TumblePuzzles, and TumbleQuizzes, as well as TumbleResources for teachers. TumbleBooks are created from existing picture books which we have licensed from children's book publishers and converted to the TumbleBook format.

Navigating the Site:
You may want to first explore the site and check out all the books, games and features. Our catalogue has book descriptions, book reviews, and author/illustrator/publisher information. You can view a TumbleBook by clicking on the ‘View Online” button. There are a number ways you can access a book:

  1. The index page lists all the TumbleBooks and TumbleGames. Click on the hyperlink and it will take you right to that TumbleBook.
  2. Scroll through the collection in any of the sections to read the descriptions and view the reading levels.

Once you have familiarized yourself with the collection however, the fastest and easiest way to get to your favorite books is by adding your class favorites to the My Favorites section. Add and delete the titles you want easy access to.

TumbleBooks:
Automatic/Manual Button:   TumbleBooks are designed to be experienced in either automatic or manual mode. In automatic mode, the pages turn by themselves and are narrated; in manual, the narration is turned off and children turn the pages at their own speed.
The Pause Button:   Both the student and teacher can use the pause button to stop the story at any time in order to practice story prediction, interpret pictures, discuss new vocabulary words, empathize with a character, discuss possible consequences of actions, encourage problem solving, or provide historical, geographical, or other perspectives.
TumblePad Word Helper :   This new feature allows you to click on a book to hear a sentence repeated, or click on a vocabulary word in order to hear it sounded out.
Reading Levels:   Each title has recommended reading levels for both automatic and manual modes. Click on the reading level to see other books at the same level.
TumbleQuizzes:
Each title has an accompanying TumbleQuiz: a fun, flash-animated, multiple-choice quiz that each student can take online after reading a book to test their reading comprehension.

TumbleGames:
The TumblePuzzles and memory TumbleGames are great educational games to play after reading a book.

Language Learning:
Our Language Learning section has a growing collection of books in Spanish and French.

Life Learning:
We are especially proud of our Life Learning section. You'll discover important books about volunteering, tolerance and other life lessons.

Navigate en Español, en Français, or in Chinese:
Our drop down menu on the top right hand corner of the site allows you to view the entire site in Spanish, French or Chinese!

TumbleReadables:
Explore our collection of Large Print chapter books and classic children's books created in the TumbleReadable format. TumbleReadables are online electronic books which include our innovative text size slider which enables the reader to increase the text size to up to 34PT. Perfect for reluctant, emergent, ESL and middle schoolers who just love to read!

We are sure that you will love your experience with the TumbleBookLibrary, and it will soon become and invaluable educational resource to you. We are constantly adding new books, puzzles and games as well as other teaching resources.

As always, we welcome your questions, comments and general feedback. We look forward to a long and successful relationship with your school.
