It will be a challenging and fun year for the Hunt Valley sixth graders. Students will experience changing classes and teachers for their core subjects (math, reading, science and social studies). Ms. Fogle teaches reading, Mrs. Marzluff teaches science and Mrs. Picard teaches social studies. All 3 teachers teach math. In language arts the students will focus on a variety of skills. Students will improve writing through creative and more formal writing assignments. Students will also experience a wide variety of genres and materials to read and use to practice their reading strategies. In science, they will learn about astronomy, weather, energy and matter through hands-on experiments and interesting projects. In social studies, students will focus on learning the story of America from the founding of America through the American Civil War. In math, students will be focusing on fractions, decimals and percents, as well as data analysis and geometry. Get ready for a great year of learning and preparation for middle school!
