• Online Encyclopedias: Grolier includes Lands and People, Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia, and Encyclopedia Americana.
• Websites:
  • Germany: The Travel Destination: http://www.germany-tourism.de/index_ENG.htm Click on Click on "Federal States." Scroll down to the state of interest an clilck on "next." The physical environment is described under "nature" and cuisine is described under "regional specialties."
  • Sally's Place: Ethnic Cuisine: Germany: http://www.sallys-place.com/food/cuisines/germany.htm The entry begins with a description of the geography of Germany and includes several recipes.
  • Google Recipes: http://directory.google.com/Top/Home/Cooking/World_Cuisines/European/German/ Scroll down to see if your state is mentioned.
  • The Weather Channel: www.weather.com Look under "Averages and Records" to find average monthly temperature and rainfall for most major cities.
• Databases: Go to the section about Germany in Worldmark Encyclopedia of the Nations for a description of the 3 climate regions of Germany.
• Search Engines: Search using the name of a dish mentioned elsewhere or enter the name of your state followed by the word "recipes."

Step 4: Use the material. Read it and take notes.

Step 5: Synthesize the information: Prepare and present the skit, poster, power point, song, poem, or other approved product.

Step 6: Evaluate: Does the paper you wrote answer the essential question. Have you met the requirements for the assignment?
