Are you fluent in another language?  You can earn high school credit if you take the World Language exam this year. The 2011 Credit Exam for World Languages will be administered on November 9, 10, and 14.  Twenty languages will be included:  Amharic, Arabic, Bengali/Bangla, Chinese/Mandarin, French, Farsi/Persian, German, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Nepali (new this year), Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog/Pilipino, Telugu, Twi, Urdu, and Vietnamese. Please contact your school counselor for registration and additional information.  Registration opens on Monday, September 26, 2011, at 8 a.m. and closes on Monday, October 24, 2011, at 4 p.m. Late registrations will not be accepted.  Credit exam information can be accessed at:  http://www.fcps.edu/DIS/OHSICS/forlang/creditexam/index.htm.

Adobe Youth Voices (AYV) is a global philanthropy initiative that empowers youth worldwide to comment on their world using multimedia and digital tools to communicate and share their ideas, demonstrate their potential, and take action in their communities.  A core group of teen (13- 18) filmmakers and documentarians is currently being formed at the Southgate Community Center and participating in filmmaking 101 workshops.  All sessions will be held on Fridays from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Southgate Community Center’s Computer Lab.  This is a FREE program, thanks to the support of a grant through Adobe Youth Voices. A schedule of the sessions is below:

CLICK HERE for information regarding the "FCPS 24-7 Learning (also known as BlackBoard) Parent Account". With a parent account, you can view you child(ren)'s classes anytime and anywhere. Do you have children in different schools, or possibly more than one child in the same school? It does not matter because you will be able to see all your children' s classes at one time. Sign up, you will be glad you did!

FCPS 24/7 Learning (Blackboard) Student Accounts- Parents, if your student cannot access their Blackboard accounts because it will not accept their password, then have the student ask any of his/her teachers and they can reset it for them. Please note, the front office does not have this capability, only the teacher.

UPDATING STUDENT INFORMATION - If your email address, home address or phone number has changed, please contact the office to provide the information or update directly through eCare@school on your FCPS 24-7 Parentview account at http://fcps.blackboard.com/webapps/portal/frameset.jsp (if you don't have this, you can CLICK HERE to begin the process of creating one). Any change of address can only be made by presenting proof of residency in the form of a deed, lease agreement, or resident manager’s letter to the school registrar.
